World Health Day calls for good health for locals

The World Health Organisation's (WHO) celebrates its 75th anniversary this year.

World Health Day on April 7 marks the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) 75th anniversary.

Countries of the world came together in 1948 and founded WHO to promote health, keep the world safe and serve the vulnerable to allow everyone, everywhere to attain the highest level of health and well-being.

This year’s theme is Health For All.

The theme envisions that all people have good health to lead a fulfilling life in a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world.

The right to health is a basic human right. Everyone must have access to health services when and where needed without financial hardship.

Almost two billion people face catastrophic or impoverishing health spending, with significant inequalities affecting those in the most vulnerable settings.
