The Mazda BT-50, for the first time in nine years, received a complete redesign and the result premiered recently. The new bakkie features Mazda’s Kodo design language which sees it blending in with other models in the Mazda model line-up. Isuzu Motor Limited will be supplying the new vehicle as an OEM to Mazda to go on sale in regions including Oceania, ASEAN, Central, South America, the Middle East and Africa with Australia being the first to take delivery in the second half of 2020.

The BT-50 which is built on Isuzu’s D-MAX bakkie features a familiar Mazda grille up front as well as sharp and distinctive headlights resembling those found on the Mazda CX SUV range. The rear load-bay is capable of carrying more than a ton and the tailgate finished with a design that leads the eye to the Mazda badge.  The interior is also completely redesigned to match the premium exterior. The interior design is focused on creating an environment to inspire driver connection with the vehicle and occupant comfort, especially in off-road conditions.

More details on the new Mazda BT-50 and its price will be revealed closer to the local introduction of the bakkie.
