Sunday for pets planned

Border Collie Rescue will host a flyball competition with a prize for the four-legged friend with the closest time.

Border Collie Rescue will host a fun walk and activity day on Sunday, July 2.

The event will take place at the Goldfields Kennel Club situated next to Gillooly’s Farm.

Registration for the walk will open at 7am and the event will finish at 1pm.

Organisers promise fun activities for humans and furry friends alike, including an early morning dog walk.

Various stalls will be available, as well as lucky draws and discounted micro-chipping.

Those attending will have the opportunity to meet the faces behind a number of rescue organisations.

At 9.30am Border Collie Rescue will host a flyball competition.

Other events will include dog dancing, as well as a tunnel run.

Entrance for the day costs R30 per human and R10 per furry friend. Pet owners are reminded to bring along water for their companions.

Dogs should be on leads at all times. All breeds are welcome.

Residents are asked to bring along a donation of tinned dog food for a free entry into a lucky draw.
