JOBURG – DJ Doowap takes her deep bass and alternative style to Paris.

DJ Doowap is known for her over-the-top fashion choices, so what better place to show them off than in Paris – where fashion and food are what’s hot.

In true Converse fashion, the celebrated sneaker brand coupled an ambassador workshop with a party of epic proportions, which perfectly coincided with Paris Fashion Week 2017, and representing South Africa were style mavens Fhatuwani Innocent Mukheli and DJ Doowap.

Johannesburg-based DJ Doowap is the well-known South African music maker who loves her bass sounds and, even more so, loves taking the music to the people on her radio show and through her music gigs across the country.

Finding fame through blogging and social media, Mukheli is a fashion icon who also seems to have captured the attention of international fashion brands.

The pair’s luxury trip as Converse brand ambassadors started with a spot of pre-party shopping and sightseeing

The VIP treatment continued with a chauffeur-driven ride to a party at a mystery location.

“It turned out to be this incredible venue with long doors and high ceilings, and the first thing I saw on entering was an amazing chandelier made of white 70s Chucks [Chuck Taylor shoes made by Converse],” Mukheli reminisced.

The stylish reps did some major networking with other unique influencers from all over the world and customised their very own pair of Chucks – just a couple of the highlights for the attendees.

DJ Doowap added, “I loved the melting pot of ethnicities and the kind of people featuring and representing the brand. It made me feel proud to be a part of the brand during such a milestone.”

These local socialites are making waves all over the world.
