Celebrate with Dino Batista and his signature cocktail

JOBURG – Johannesburg's greatest bartender has a great original cocktail recipe for you to try.

 

Dino Batista is Johannesburg’s shining beacon of bartending excellence, who made a reputation for himself in the mixology community after working at The March Hare in Maboneng and now mixing at Molecular Bars – a prelude to the string of wins under his belt in the bartending world.

Now pursuing the title of the world’s best bartender in the World Class Competition 2017, from 24 to 26 April, Batista faces off against a number of equally talented bartenders, in an attempt to conquer the national leg before moving on to the finals in Mexico later this year.

“The momentum-building as we get to nationals is exciting and exhilarating for us. As we excite and intrigue consumers about this competition showcasing inconceivable mixology skills, we also inspire thousands of bartenders in the fraternity to perfect their skill and strive to compete on the global stage,” said Steven Saunders, senior reserve brand ambassador at Diageo South Africa.

“World Class has supported, educated and inspired over 250 000 bartenders through its training and advocacy programme since its inception in 2009.” He added.

Salt of the Earth: The Journey by Johannesburg’s Dino Batista

50ml Johnny Walker Blue Label

50ml Clarified Milk Punch

5ml Green Chartreuse

Top up with pineapple and cardamom wine.

Shake all ingredients together, except the wine, with cubed ice. Strain mixture into a chilled glass and top up with the wine.
