Music from Mazikar

JOBURG – From Cameroon to Auckland Park, Mazikar brings his unique brand of music to the local people.

Mazikar is a musician who has made his way from Cameroon to South Africa to share his love for music and live performance.
The musician performs pidgin trap music which could be categorised as a mix of hip-hop and Afro beats.

His first performance was at a local primary school where he sang Michael Jackson’s Thriller and he’s never looked back.

After many years, Mazikar has finally chosen to go professional in the industry because music motivates all that he does.
“I believe that there is juice [rhythm] within me in everything I do. Even though I was a troubled youth I managed to find some peace in music.” The young up-and-coming star found that it was through music that he could release all his anger, happiness, love and every other feeling he experienced.

“I chose to do music because I found comfort in it. It was a perfect distraction every time I felt anger, sadness or frustration about any situation or anyone. I would turn everything that I experience into a song and that’s why I chose music. I basically got more in touch with my feelings and it gave me a platform to express my feelings.”

In touch with his feelings, Mazikar is channeling them into hard work and it’s paying off in the form of his new single and upcoming album. “I’m currently pushing my single Ring Leader as well as the video. Hoping to drop my album early next year.”

Not forgetting the struggles he’s faced, the musician is inspired by them and the promise of a bright future. “My biggest inspiration in life is waking up in the morning to see another day. I have been through a lot and a million things happen around me every single day and being witness to such inspires me.”
So, what does he aim to accomplish next year?

“I want to be a multiple award-winning five-time platinum-selling artist. I want to do a worldwide tour. I also want to launch my clothing brand and shoot my movie.”

He’s got big dreams, so watch this space.
