Wacky Wednesday: Fishing with an old iphone
There are many wacky things one can do with their old iphone and fishing is one of them.
Apparently people aren’t the only ones that are drawn to Apple devices. Brett Stanford from How Ridiculous proved this by putting his old iphone to the test.
In a Youtube video, Standford used his dead Apple iphone as bait to lure fish in Dunsborough, located in the south-west of Western Australia.
The video shows how he manages to catch salmon using this bizarre method in just 15 minutes. Apparently the area gets a lot of salmon around this time of the year.
He told Mashable: “It took about two and a half minutes to get the fish in but I had to play it pretty safe as I didn’t want to lose my lure.”
“They often take lures, but on this particular day lots of lure types weren’t working, which is what makes it even more amazing that the iPhone did work. Apple have obviously done something right,” he said.
He released the fish, which weighed around 5kg , back into the ocean after the encounter. It’s all captured on camera, watch below.
