World Trauma Day commemorated

South African Emergency Care (SAEC) together with the Netcare Union Hospital commemorated World Trauma Day last Saturday.

Officers dealing with trauma participated in rescue games depicting real life emergencies.

The day involved officers from different emergency services companies. Staff competed in the games formulated by the SAEC and the Netcare Union Hospital. The games were held at SA Emergency Care’s Station 23 in Modderfontein.

Ms Amanda Kette, from Netcare, said the day was to give back to the people managing trauma patients.

“This is for anyone who is involved with trauma patients. Normally on this day, people organise support groups for the patients but today we honour those who are managing patients. As much as we remember our patients, today is the day to acknowledge the people who are doing the hard work,” she said.
