Christmas party for the elderly
A Christmas party was hosted by Ms Rene Du Plooy of the We Care charity organisation on December 6.
The party is celebrated yearly and the elderly look forward to the annual event.
Ms Du Plooy said every year they bring elderly residents together, from various old age homes around Malvern. Some of the residents also come from the De Wetshof Park cottages, Gerald Fritz Patrick, Bertha Solomon and several other homes. They gather to celebrate the festive season with friends and families.
“This year was better than previous years and we thank everyone who made sure the event was a success,” said Ms Du Plooy.
The event was sponsored by various organisations, including Crime National, Father Tony Daniels from the Catholic Church, the DA with Clr Carlos Da Rocha, and the I love Kensington Association (ILKA).
Buses were also arranged to transport residents from their homes to the Christmas party.
