Joburg skyline lights up

Emperors Palace and the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM) have once again joined hands to host the spellbinding Garden of Lights.

The event floods the Joburg and Ekurhuleni skyline as it illuminates the Palace of Dreams with a festive range of beautiful and colourful light displays every night until January 4.

First introduced in 2007, the mesmerising Garden of Lights has welcomed more than 800 000 visitors and boasts over 200 character light displays and hundreds of kilometres of lighting.

Months of planning and a dedicated team are just some of the festive ingredients needed to create this spectacular affair, where more than 140 000 visitors are expected to enjoy the 2014 Garden of Lights.

The garden is open daily from 7pm to 10pm, weather permitting.

Apart from thousands of lights that will turn the garden of the 5-star D’oreale Grande Hotel at Emperors Palace into an enchanting wonderland this festive season, children can also expect to meet and interact with a host of great costume characters.
