Flute and guitar in adventurous programme

The Johannesburg Musical Society resumes its 2014 season with an adventurous programme on August 16 at 8pm in the Linder Auditorium.

Master-flautist Cobus du Toit and prize-winning guitarist Patrick Sutton will play a programme that expresses the many moods of North and South America.

Join them on a journey to the bustling streets of Buenos Aires, the passionate folk dances of Venezuela, the cold waters off Cape Cod and the inspiring folk music of the Appalachian Mountains.

They will be playing Astor Piazzolla’s ‘Histoire du Tango’, Toru Takemitsu’s ‘Toward the Sea’, Maximo Pujol’s ‘Dos Aires Candomberos’ and Robert Beaser’s ‘Mountain Songs’.

Book at Computicket. The box office opens for sales one hour before the start of the show. There is no credit card facility at the Linder.
