Cops and robbers shootout in Dowerglen
Police officers arrived on the scene and the men opened fire.
A shootout ensued after police officers cornered four armed men in Dowerglen last night.
According to the chairperson for the Edenvale Community Police Forum (ECPF), Mrs Linda McKenzie, the four armed men gained access to a house in Dowerglen.
“When the property owner arrived at her house, the four men confronted her and her domestic worker,” she said.
Police officers arrived on the scene and the men opened fire. The police officers retaliated and fired several shots back.
“The men were chased towards the highway where another shootout took place,” said Mrs McKenzie.
All the goods taken during the robbery were recovered but the four men managed to escape.
