Rusty Lady murder case postponed

The man arrested in Edenvale in connection with the murder of Ms Natalie Dube appeared in the Johannesburg High Court on Tuesday last week.

The case was postponed and the man was remanded in custody.

Ms Natalie Dube was found dead at the Rusty Lady Deli Bistro in Queen Street, Kensington on July 9.

Her throat was slit and her feet and hands were tied with electrical cables.

Ms Dube (25), a Malvern resident, went to work the day before and one of the managers asked her to remain behind after work to do stock taking because she was late. She did so. Ms Dube’s body was found at the premises the next day.

Police officers followed up on information and arrested a man in connection with the murder at a hotel in Edenvale the same day.

Last week, Constable Mpho Mashakane said, “Investigations are still continuing. The investigating officer could not disclose much about the case for security reasons. The next court date is not yet known,” she said.
