St Andrew’s gymnastic star

After achieving excellent results at the warm-up competitions, Victoria-Anne was chosen to represent Germiston Gymnastic Artistic Club at Eastern Gauteng Women’s Artistic Competition.

St Andrew’s School for Girls learner Victoria-Anne Robinson-Monteiro had a successful gymnastic season this year.

After passing the AFSA International Acrobatic exam, achieving honours with distinction, Victoria-Anne was selected to represent Kinema Acrobatics Studio at the Central Gauteng Championships in Roodepoort in the u-8 category and finished in third place.

Ten acrobats across all age groups for level three with the highest scores were chosen to represent Gauteng at the Inter-provincials Championships in Pretoria, where she placed eighth.

She was awarded her Junior Central Gauteng colours for acrobatics level three.

After achieving excellent results at the warm-up competitions, Victoria-Anne was chosen to represent Germiston Gymnastic Artistic Club at Eastern Gauteng Women’s Artistic Competition.

Victoria-Anne placed first and won three golds and a silver.

She also qualified to represent the Eastern Gauteng team at the Inter-Provincial competition in Kempton Park, winning three gold medals and one silver and placing 11th out of 53 girls.

Victoria-Anne then went on to qualify and represent Gauteng at the Nationals Festival Competition held in Bloemfontein in June, taking gold and silver.

She was awarded her Junior Eastern Gauteng provincial colours for artistic gymnastics level two.

Victoria-Anne also represented Prima Rhythmic Club at the Central Gauteng Competitions, where she placed first for free dance and second for hoop apparatus and won gold overall.

She qualified to represent Central Gauteng at the Inter-Provincials, where she won gold and placed second for hoop apparatus.

Victoria-Anne placed third for free dance in the u-8 category, achieving the third highest score for level two out of 119 girls.

She was also chosen for Nationals Zone Competition in Kibler Park, where she won gold for free dance and placed fourth out of 63 girls.

Victoria-Anne was awarded her junior colours for Central Gauteng for rhythmic gymnastics level two.
