Branden makes Central Gauteng team

Branden Willows has made the Central Gauteng team as an open water swimmer.

“My hard work has paid off. I have been dedicated to my training three hours a day, all year round,” shared Willows.

He also earned South African Junior Colours for lifesaving.

He achieved the standards to represent the country again this year, but the proposed tour was cancelled for logistical reasons, so he’ll have to wait for next year when he’ll be competing as a senior.

Willows also loves open water swimming for a good cause.

“I love using my talent to make a contribution to those in need.

“I swam the eight-mile challenge at Midmar for the second time and next year I am going to do the 16-mile,” said Willows.

The funds collected from his sponsors during his Midmar swim will be donated to his charity of choice, the Childhood Cancer Foundation (Choc).
