The first round of the St Benedict’s College golf championship was held on September 15 and 16 at Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Club.
There were 12 boys and seven staff who entered.
Conditions were slightly challenging as a fairly strong wind was gusting from different directions and the greens had recently been sand dressed.
Despite these difficult conditions, Ross Morley-Jepson shot a very credible 75 followed by Hirsch and Kyle all on 78.
Other junior less experienced players found the course too tough and some heavy scores were submitted.
The second round of the championships will be in two week’s time.
