Jeppe High School for Boys grade 12 pupil, Tyrone Green, was recently selected for the SA Schools squad at the Coca-Cola Craven Week.

“The experience was great. I learnt a lot and some of these experiences will improve my performance.

“My Coca-Cola Craven Week has been amazing and I was proud of my performance,” said Tyrone.

Tyrone started playing rugby at the age of four, at which age he already knew that he wanted to play rugby.

“My family loves sports. My dad played soccer but has always supported me in my love of rugby,” said Tyrone.

Tyrone plans on continuing playing even after school, while furthering his education.

“I will continue playing rugby as I would love to play for the Lions. But I will also study because you always need something to fall back on if anything should happen,” said Tyrone.

He said if you want something you must go for it.

“Put your fear aside and go for what you want. If you want to play rugby but you are scared – be brave and give it a try,” said Tyrone.

The SA Schools squad will take on England, Wales and France in August.

The Coca-Cola SA Schools team will face Wales on August 12 at the City Park Stadium in Cape Town, France on August 16 at Bishops Diocesan College in Cape Town and England on August 20 at Paarl Boys High in Paarl.
