St Andrew’s School for Girls’ swimmers have once again done the school proud, where no less than five girls qualified to swim at the recent 2016 SA Senior Nationals.

The nationals were held at the Kings Park Swimming Pool in Durban recently.

As this is an Olympic year, the championships coincided with the Olympic Trials and the girls got a taste of the tough competition and qualifying times to get to the Olympics.

Sharing the pool with the likes of Chad le Clos, Cameron Van der Burgh and Karin Prinsloo was a great honour for the girls.

Lize-Marie De Beer, Erin Anderson, Demi Joseph, Caitlin Lewington and Jenna Pearse came home with personal best times and medals.

Further accolades go out to Erin Anderson and Jenna Pearse for reaching the finals.

Special mention also went to Jenna Pearse, who won medals in the youth division with golds in the 200m, 400m and 800m freestyle and 200m butterfly, a silver in the 200m freestyle relay and a bronze in the 100m freestyle.

Demi Joseph also won medals in the youth division with two silvers in the 100m and 200m backstroke respectively.
