Queens High hosts cricket tournament

JMS defeated B Ntini Academy, who batted first and scored 139 runs in 15 overs.

The Johannesburg Muslim School (JMS) won the Round Robin T20 that was held at Queens High School.

The school’s team won by three wickets on Sunday last week.

JMS defeated B Ntini Academy, who batted first and scored 139 runs in 15 overs.

Queens High School, B Ntini Cricket Academy and JMS took part in the event.

Queens High School lost both of its games. B Ntini Academy won two of its two games while JMS won both of its games before reaching the finals.

Bongani Ntini, from the B Ntini Academy, said his team displayed a great performance with batting.

He said the tournament was introduced to revive the sport at Queens High School.

Ntini is also in charge of cricket at the school.

“We have provided bursaries for underprivileged pupils from different parts of Gauteng to come study and play at Queens High School. We want to give them the basic necessities and professional coaching. Through this we hope to revive the sport in the school,” he said.
