Bowling competition to be held in Edenvale

In the bowling fraternity, a bowler is a novice if they have played the sport for less than five years.

The Fillies and Colts Lawn Bowls Competition, set to be hosted by the Edenvale Bowling Club, will see novice bowlers take to the greens.

The competition, which the club has run for over 20 years, allows novices to compete against other bowlers of similar skill.

In the bowling fraternity, a bowler is a novice if they have played the sport for less than five years.

The competition will take place at the club on March 7 between 8.30am and 9pm.

Each team will consist of three novice bowlers and entry fee is R600 per team.

The day will see teams play three games of 12 ends.

Morning tea, light lunch and after-game snacks will be available for the team members.

The club offers free bowls coaching and provides bowls where necessary on a Saturday morning, from 9am.
