Bedfordview resident Anthony Walsh and Edenvale resident Roeloff Greyling from Victoria Lake Canoe Club partnered for the Two-Day Klip River Race in preparation for the Dusi Canoe Marathon.
The Two-Day Klip River Race took place on January 25 and 26 from Daleside to Meyerton.
The race consisted of 66km over the two days and each day there was a few kilometres where the paddlers had to run carrying their boats.
They finished the race in five hours 32 minutes successfully with no problems and feel a lot stronger and more confident for the upcoming Dusi.
The Dusi Canoe Marathon takes place from Pietermaritzburg to Durban.
Dusi is a 120km race over three days, which includes running with a boat over hills and through bush.
Paddlers also have to paddle through major rapids and white water technical challenges.
Dusi takes place on February 27 to 29.
