Jeppe Quondam Bowls gain national title

Greg added that with promotion back to the premier division for next year secured, bowls is once again looking strong at Jeppe.

The Men’s South African Bowls Nationals, hosted in Pretoria, came to a conclusion on May 19.

“It is the only bowls tournament in the country where players from all districts can enter. It is thus the pinnacle of club Bowls in South Africa,” said Jeppe Quondam Bowls

committee chairman, Greg Kilfoil

The Jeppe Quondam team including skip Jake Ireland, third Ian Ireland, second Haig Randall and lead Barry Ireland, managed to go the whole week undefeated and ultimately secure the title in a scintillating final against Brakpan Mines.

“The last time Jeppe Quondam managed to win the national title was way back in 1984.

For the past 35 years, teams have tried, got close but failed to get over the line on many occasions, so this is a huge victory for the Club,” said Greg
