Dads and daughters enjoy their special day

Fathers and daughters bond at school grounds.

Aimed at enhancing the relationship between fathers and their daughters Assumption Convent School hosted a Dads and Daughters Day at its grounds.

A series of fun-filled team building activities in which fathers and their girls were paired were held.

The indoor games included a Father-Daughter Quiz, while the outdoor games ranged from hula hoop competitions to water balloon throwing and three-legged races.

Afterwards, the dads and daughters were split up and each given a talk.

Fathers were given an address in which the importance of their roles in their daughters lives was stressed.

The speaker also shared some ideas and experiences of what it takes to be a good dad in the country today and in a challenging global society.

The daughters were given a talk by another speaker on the importance of respect. They were also given some practical ideas of how to show love in everyday life.

Marketing manager at the school Marinella Sousa said, “After the talks, the dads and daughters had private dialogues with each other and then were lead in a special prayer and were reminded about how important praying together is to improve their bonds.

“The day was concluded with prego rolls and socialising. All who attended the day felt that is was an extremely useful day and that they grew in relationship as a dad and daughter.”
