The event will raise funds for the Edenvale Camera Project and the Kidney Bean Trust, which assists children with life-threatening kidney diseases.

On the day, a marathon, half-marathon, 10km run and the Kidney Beanz 5km fun run will be held.

The marathon will start at 6am on Linksfield Road near Edenvale High School.

Residents will be affected by the early-morning hustle and bustle of athletes from as early as 4am.

“We understand that being woken up early on a weekend with noise can be frustrating, but we ask for your patience, understanding and tolerance,” said volunteer Jackie Allen.

“To build morale and energy during the event, there will be bright lights, loud music, cheering and noise. Again, we ask for your patience and understanding in this event.”

She said many volunteers will be there all night and continue to work tirelessly after the event to clean up.

Entries closed on February 28.
