Yoga in Rhodes Park was initiated by the former chairperson of KRRA, Brendon Burmeister, and Kensington residents Ralf and Dawn Meysel, as one way to encourage residents to spend time in Rhodes Park.

“A yoga class can accommodate anyone regardless of who they are. If you haven’t come to a class yet, what is stopping you?

“Yoga is about moving your body with your breath; it’s about becoming aware of your movement and breathing. Whether you are old or young, male or female – as long as you are breathing – then yoga is for you. Each person in class does what they can with their body and its abilities and constraints,” said the yoga teacher, Colleen Dawson.

The teachers are Kensington residents, who are offering their expertise to the community as a service.

“Participants can come for free. A variety of yoga styles are offered,” she said.

Those who would like to participate can contact Lindi Richer on 082-899-7519.
