BSA hosts markers course

The markers course held at Edenvale’s club taught bowlers the rules and what to look out for.

In preparation for Bowls South Africa’s (BSA) Women’s National Championships, BSA hosted a markers course at the Edenvale Bowling Club.

Brian Sayce, a convener of Bowls South Africa Coaching, said the markers course held at the club taught bowlers the rules and what to look out for.

Sayce said bowling markers ensure everything goes to plan on the green.

“If the marker is unsure about something they can call the umpire to come to the green,” said Sayce.

The national championships will be held between May 12 and 20 at bowling clubs in Ekurhuleni.

Some of the bowling clubs taking part include Avion in Kempton Park, Modderfontein, Alberton, Boksburg and Edenvale.
