Bedfordview Athletics recently took part in the Two Oceans Ultra-marathon and Half-marathon over the Easter weekend.
Runners experienced cool conditions with wind, which made the climb up Chapman’s Peak and Constantia Nek especially challenging.

Bedfordview Athletics did well in the ultra-marathon by earning two silver medals, four Sainsbury medals and eight bronze medals.
They also earned a further nine blue medals after doing well in the country’s overall amateur clubs.
Thapelo Mafokeng was the first athlete to cross the finish line and earned himself a silver medal.

His time was three hours and 55 minutes.
The Two Oceans Marathon silver medal is considered the most difficult silver medal to attain in South Africa.
