JVW made their debut at the tournament in 2016 and found themselves competing against top girls’ teams from around the world.

Returning from the Cup, the girls were able to relish the experience having left the tournament with fond memories of competing at a higher level.

This gives the team heightened determination going into this year’s tournament, by knowing a bit more of what to expect and sharing advice and tips with some of the new faces in the team. The team will depart from Johannesburg on July 21 and return on July 30.

The tournament will run from July 23 to July 28, 2018, in Hjorring, Denmark, which is also home to Denmark’s top tier women’s football team Fortuna Hjorring.

Another fantastic advantage to this trip is visiting the Dana Cup Academy, which offers Danish and international female football players personal development with football as the main focus but also is hand-in-hand with other educational options, tailor-made for each individual student.
