The annual 4.2km and 8.4km events will start from the school on Civin Drive, Senderwood.

Life vice president of the Saheti Board, advocate George Bizos, will start the race.

Bizos is a prominent human rights lawyer and part of the team that represented the former late president, Nelson Mandela, during the Rivonia Trial.

The school’s head of marketing, Anna Botha, said proceeds from the marathon will go to the George Bizo Saheti Scholarship and Bursary Fund (GBSSBF).

The event attracts and assists learners of outstanding ability, who are in financial need, to access secondary education at Saheti.

The event is open to members of the public of all ages.
