Cities unite in support of PinkDrive

JOBURG - The Totalsports Women's Race takes place on 9 August at the Mary Fitzgerald Square in Newtown, Johannesburg.

The streets of Johannesburg and Cape Town will be bustling on National Women’s Day, 9 August, when thousands of runners and walkers dressed in pink take to the streets in the annual Totalsports Women’s Race in support of PinkDrive.

A non-profit company, PinkDrive is committed to improving breast cancer awareness, education, and providing and offering free services to the medically uninsured across South Africa.

“We’re extremely grateful to be part of the Totalsports Women’s Race in 2017,” said Fébé Meyer, marketing manager of PinkDrive.

“By being part of the event we are able to raise much-needed funds for our organisation and are given the platform to educate people regarding the importance of early detection.

“The race creates an environment where people can celebrate life and womanhood. This event is one of my favourite activations on our calendar,” she said, adding the Johannesburg race takes place at Mary Fitzgerald Square in Newtown.

PinkDrive will be present at both races offering free clinical breast examinations and educating on the importance of self-breast examinations.
