Local runners tame the Comrades

"Everybody who took part in the race had a lovely time."

Tracy Farmer, of the Edenvale Rand Road Warriors, completed the Comrades with a time of 11:31;02.

The Comrades Marathon saw thousands of runners tackling the up-run.

Among the thousands of participants, a few locals from the East Rand Road Warriors (ERRW) took part in the race.

Gareth Manson, who is the ERRW chairperson, told the NEWS that 67 runners from the club took part in this year’s marathon.

Of the group, 38 runners of the Edenvale group finished. “Everybody who took part in the race had a lovely time,” said Gareth.

Byron Benson, from the Edenvale Rand Road Warriors, completed the Comrades with a time of 7:23;24.
Gavin Letcher, from the Edenvale Rand Road Warriors, completed the Comrades with a time of 10:53;02.
Patrick Johnson, from the Edenvale Rand Road Warriors, completed the Comrades with a time of 8:08;29.
Keith Kendall, from the Edenvale Rand Road Warriors, completed the Comrades with a time of 10:12;15.
Joe Khumalo, of the Edenvale Rand Road Warriors, completed the Comrades with a time of 11:38;44.
Tracy Farmer, of the Edenvale Rand Road Warriors, completed the Comrades with a time of 11:31;02.
