An Edenvale canoeist holds the title of the 2016 season K1 Master Age Group Champion following the annual award ceremony of the Gauteng Canoe Union.

Malcolm Stothard received the award at the ceremony held on May 27.
The ceremony was held at the Cradle Moon Lakeside Game Lodge.
Paddlers young and old were awarded for their racing achievements during 2016
The paddlers were awarded trophies, provincial colours and South African colours for their achievements.
Malcolm received the award from the Deputy President of Canoe South Africa, Christo Horn.
