Over 350000 raised at rotary golfday

At the golf day the R100 000 Hole in One prize eluded many golfers

The Modderfontein Golf Course buzzed with corporate and social golfers on April 20

Many golfers on the course attended the Mica and Bethany Home Golf Day.

Andy Stevenson of the Rotary Club of Knights-Pendragon (RCKP) said the golf day was organised to raise funds for the Bethany Home for Abused Women and Children.

He said R350 000 was needed for the project of renovating the home.

Stevenson said the project includes the total rewiring and installation of electrical boards and fittings, complete replacements of plumbing, fittings and tiling of bathrooms, supply and installation of fire protection and internal/external painting throughout the home.

At the golf day the R100 000 Hole in One prize eluded many golfers.

Stevenson said only one golfer got within a metre of the prize.

He said winners of the event were announced at the prize-giving event afterwards.

“Every participant in this golf day, in every category, received a prize and the real winner of the day was Bethany Home,” said Stevenson.

Over R350 000 was raised from the golf day.

According to Stevenson Bethany Home provides shelter and rehabilitation for 55 women and children at anytime.

He said the RCKP has assisted Bethany Home for a number of years.
