Easter bowls tournament a hit
Twenty-two teams entered the tournament, including two junior teams and a disabled team
Bedfordview Country Club hosted its annual Easter bowls tournament on April 15 and 16.
Sponsored by Supa Quik Edenvale, 22 teams entered the tournament, including two junior teams and a disabled team.
The two junior sides scored an average of 17 and played well, beating some of the more experienced teams.
The tournament was won by a local team consisting of Terence Botha, Gary Symons, Jacqui Janse Van Rensburg and Fiona Eaton.
Ryan Hoffman’s team, consisting of Keegan Sayce, Alexis Hannegraf and Luca Cellere, took fifth place while Josh Britz’ team, Nathan Dwinger, Thabo Molope and Kayla Stopforth, took 18th.
The disabled team was proudly skipped by Desiree Levine from Bowls South Africa disability. They finished a credible 10th overall. Levine also facilitated a financial donation to Ryan Hoffmann’s team as part of youth development.
