EBC ahead of the the pack

The Ekurhuleni Saturday Bowls League commenced on January 28, after a break over the Christmas period.
The league, which is made up of various bowls clubs from Ekurhuleni, also allows clubs from as far as Delmas and Heidelburg to participate in the league.
“The Edenvale teams continue to be successful in this league,” said Mr Richard Lowe of the Edenvale Bowling Club.
He said the women’s A side consolidated their position as log leaders in the Premier ‘A division, with a victory over Delville/Germiston.
The men’s A side also cemented their position on top of the Premier ‘A’ division, with a hard-fought win over the Boksburg team.
“Edenvale is also enjoying success further down the ladder, with their third division team comfortably leading their section,” said Mr Lowe.
“The club is cautiously optimistic that these three sides will continue their march towards victory,” said Mr Lowe.
On the evening of January 28, at an awards evening, Ms Sheila Buncombe from the EBC was announced as the Victrix Ludorum for the past year.
“This award is given to the player who, in the EBC committee’s opinion, made a substantial contribution to the club through both club and other competitions,” said Mr Lowe.
