The Dabulamanzi Canoe Club recently hosted the four hour Enduro.
The competition allows teams of up to four people, which translates to an hour each.
Edenvale resident, Malcolm Stothard, partnered up with Nick Warren.
Local canoeists ready for Fish River Marathon
In the second double, their team mates were Bedfordview residents, Colin Gibbs and Reo Speddwagon.
The team managed to clock 43 laps in the four hours.
While the race is popular for those who would like to improve fitness, stamina and endurance, many participate for the enjoyment of the team.
Some teams choose to have two double kayaks to make up the four paddlers.
Some 136 paddlers in all participated in the event.
