Local acro-gymnasts thrill in Italy

Local acrobats, Abigail Last and Simone Brits, who train at the Gym Masters Gymnasts Club in Edenvale, recently competed in the Turin Acro Cup.

The Turin Acro Cup was held in Italy from July 8 to 10.

The competition was attended by 10 countries from Europe and Asia, and was the first international competition for the local pair.

They put themselves on the acro-gymnastics map by making the final and finishing a very creditable 10th out of 24 competitors.

The pair of Abigail and Simone also won the SA Gymnastics Games in their category in 2015.

The girls are trained by the Demianenko family and assisted by coach Michelle Sharples.
