Bedfordview judoka shine at championships

Miguel Ditutala received a gold medal in the senior men's team event.

Clinton Makiazekama, Sensei Clint Stevenson, Robert Britz, (bronze medal individuals), Miguel Ditutala (gold medal team event), Katy Britz (gold medal individuals) and Levon Gyulinyan at the championships.

The South African Open Judo Championships took place recently at Carnival City.

Bedfordview-based Budokwan Academy sent judoka to the tournament.

The team brought home the following results:

Katy Britz received a gold medal in the girls 12 years U57kgs category.

Robert Britz received a bronze medal in the boys group 4 U55kgs category.

Michael Hazley came fourth in the group 4 U60kgs category.

Miguel Ditutala received a gold medal in the senior men’s team event.

The club is situated at the Bedfordview Italian Club and classes are on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5pm to 7.30pm.
