Teeing off to assist baseball squad

The Modderfontein Golf Club recently hosted a gold day to raise funds for the South Africa squad set to compete in the 2015 WBSC/IBAF U/18 World Cup.

The South African Baseball Union managed to win the U/17 African Championships recently and SA has thus qualified to participate in the world cup.

The event is set to take place in Osaka, Japan, from August 28 until September 6.

The squad’s players, who were selected to represent South Africa, come from varied and diverse backgrounds.

Although many of the members come from disadvantaged environments, a golf day fundraiser was held at the Modderfontein Golf Club.
