Young tennis stars shine

The Ted Roberts Tennis Tournament was held during the recent school holidays.

During the past school holidays, avid young tennis players participated in the Ted Roberts Tennis Tournament.

Edenvale High School pupil Tristan Gastrill was the winner of the A section of the tournament, while Tristan East, also from Edenvale High School, was the runner up.

Hayden Jackson, from Dunvegan Primary School, finished in third place in the A section and Cameron Christie, from Edenvale High School, finished in fourth place.

In the B section of the tournament, Matthew Ellis from Bedfordview Primary School took first place while Catria Van Eck, a pupil at Dunvegan Primary School, finished in second place.

Greg Anderson, from Dunvegan Primary School, finished in third place of the B section. Joshua Swart, also from Dunvegan Primary School, finished in fourth place.

James Snyders, a pupil at Dunvegan Primary School, was the winner of the C section of the tournament, while Jeppe High School for Girls pupil Jesse Platt finished in second place.

Third place was taken by Jason Dickenson, from Dunvegan Primary School, while fellow Dunvegan Primary School pupil Reece Webb, was placed fourth.

First place in the D section of the tournament was awarded to Kalvin Chen, from Dunvegan Primary School.

JT Gouws, from Hurlyvale Primary School, took second place in the D section. Bedfordview Primary School pupil, Tia Platt, was placed third.

The award for the most improved player went to Daniele Contomathios.
