Tiles4Change awareness run and walk

Entries for the walk cost R30 and are available at Karaglen SuperSpar or on www.championchip.co.za

Residents are asked to stand with their children as they walk and run with their schools against a variety of social issues which affect them.

The Tiles4Change five kilometre Awareness Run/Walk will form part of the much-anticipated Sarens Edenvale Marathon on March 8.

The walk will kick off at 6.15am from Edenvale High School.

Residents participating in the event will walk or run with school principals, the Edenvale SAPS, the Bedfordview and Edenvale News, Karaglen Shopping Centre, Karaglen Spar, author Shani Krebb, singer Garth Taylor and hundreds of school children.

Causes identified for the day range from anti-drug campaigns, anti-bullying campaigns, campaigns against animal cruelty and domestic violence.

Alternatively, entries are also available from Edenvale schools.

Prizes up for grabs include a year’s government school fees paid in full.

The school with the most entries will win R10 000.

Businesses can register their own cause for the walk at a cost of R2 000, which will include personalised forms as well as posters.

“We want to bring the Edenvale community together, not only for their individual causes, but also in support of the youth of Edenvale,” said Mr Harry Karamichael, the founder of Tiles4Change.

“We also want to show our support for the Edenvale SAPS and their fight against crime and social ills in Edenvale,” he said.

Harry added that residents will also be supporting the schools in Edenvale by participating on the day.

“Through various projects run by Tiles4Change, money raised will be used to the benefit of all schools,” he said.
