Kensington's Rhodes Park hosted some of the last soccer games for last Saturday.

Malvern's Silver Bullet went head to head and won 3-1 against the Black Eagles of Bruma.

The teams both scored one goal before the half time mark, with the winners scoring two more goals during the added two minutes.

The league will resume during the third week of January.

Meanwhile, although other sporting codes played at the park have also 'closed' for the holidays, Silver Bullet coach, Sfiso Zisongo, encouraged members of the public to stay fit despite the excitement of the festive season.

“The temptation is big to eat whatever you want, but be wise about it. Take a walk after your meal and drink a lot of water,” he said.

Zisongo also had advice for sports men and women who will be going away for the holidays.

He said, “While away, organise a casual game of volley ball or soccer, anything to keep fit, as this will make it easier for you to pick up where you left off.”
