Girls shine in fun run
The all-women team successfully completed the route with two of its members, Christine Simopoulos and Heidi Mehring, finishing in the top four positions.
Six members of the #runclub participated in the George Bizos fun run held on Sunday, September 30.
The all-women team successfully completed the route with two of its members, Christine Simopoulos and Heidi Mehring, finishing in the top four positions.
Mehring had quite a week, having completed both the Cape Town Marathon and the Ommiedraai inaugural Heritage Day 10 kilometre race in the same week.
The team was started by personal trainer and group exercise instructor, @TheeTrainer, six months ago after identifying the need for like-minded women who want to run.
On any given Tuesday or Thursday morning, the women can be seen taking to the streets in the Bedfordview and Edenvale suburbs.
The team called on women interested in joining them to come forward.
The run consisted of a 4,2 kilometre and 8.4 kilometre route, which took place along the streets surrounding Saheti School.
