BCC to host JVW School League Finals

More than 55 teams registered in the four-term schools league this year.

The Bedfordview Country Club (BCC) will host the 2014 JVW Girls School League Finals.

The JVW Girls School League ended last week with a few matches being caught up, before the finalists of the league are decided.

More than 55 teams registered in the four-term schools league this year. The quarter-finals will be played at BCC this week, with the semi-finals and finals to be played after the upcoming school holidays.

Banyana Banyana captain and JVW founder, Ms Janine Van Wyk, is impressed with how the league has grown in the past three years.

“It is so great to know that the girls are continuously improving. It is great to see the league strengthen with every year. Girls are now able to participate in football, whereas before there were a minimal amount of schools that offered the sport,” said Van Wyk.

“The more girls that get the chance to play in a competitive environment at a young age the better it will be for the development of the sport in years to come,” she said.
