The Gauteng U/18 baseball A-team underwent training at the Edenvale Sports Centre on Saturday, April 19.
The training session was in preparation for the National Baseball Championships (NBC) which will take place in Durban.
17 players took part in the training for the NBC, which will take place from Wednesday, April 30 to Sunday, May 4.
The head coach of the Gauteng U/18 A-team, Dylan Teixeira said, “The progress of the team has been good. The team has undergone three months of training so far.”
The Gauteng U/18 side will face competition from Western Province, Kwa-Zulu Natal, Limpopo and the Eastern Cape.
“We finished as runners up last year, so we are looking to win the competition this year. There will be much competition for the tournament, but I am confident with the team’s preparation so far,” said Teixeira.
