0-0 draw disappoints fans

The Rhodes Park Football League returned after the festive season break.

Heavy legs were apparent when Killers FC failed to score against the less-fancied Fighters FC at the Rhodes Park Sports Grounds on February 3.

The spectators came out in large numbers to support the players. On the pitch, Killers FC seemed the hungrier of the teams as they kept pushing forward. Both teams were keen for a win, as this would have raised confidence levels for the new year.

The Fighters FC found themselves in their own half, defending and failing to send men forward, hoping to catch Killers FC on the break. In the second half, both teams started using their wings to whip crosses in, as the middle of the field was packed.

Tackles came thick and fast, forcing the referee to stamp his authority onto the game. The players seemed to tire as the game continued, bringing into question the fitness levels of both teams.

The game ended in a 0-0 draw.
