Edenvale Football Club teams deliver stellar performance at weekend matches

The U6 won by 3 – 0 points beating the Benoni Spurs securing their spot on the finals, while the U8 took on the formidable opponent Alberton FC winning by 1 – 0, making it to the semi-finals.

Edenvale Football Club (EFC) teams showed up and showed off during the cup weekend competitions on September 7 and 8.

Playing at home grounds (Edenvale Sports Club) the U6 and U8 teams delivered a stellar performance on September 7 advancing to the ELFA finals and semi-finals.

The U10s also made it to the winners’ list when they defeated Bundas FC.

The U6 won by 3-0 beating the Benoni Spurs and securing their spot in the finals, while the U8 took on the formidable opponent Alberton FC winning by 1–0, making it to the semi-finals.

The U10s also made it to the winners’ list when they defeated Bundas FC.

Natalie Hawken, EFC’s vice chairperson, said, “I am so proud of them. The U8 team played a team in a league above them.

Action-packed weekend at Edenvale Sports Club.

“We still have to get through the semi-finals and all of that but we are so proud of what we have achieved and the teams for making it this far.

The competition was fierce competing amongst premier teams from league five.”

Local teams put on a performance to make it to the finals.

She added that taking on the Alberton side was quite intense and that the opposition were tough opponents.

“Alberton was a strong opponent, and the game was so gripping that I could barely take it.

“The level of competition was high, but our team rose to the occasion with remarkable spirit and skill,” she said.
