Three Holy Rosary leaners selected for national rowing team

Three Holy Rosary High School Grade 12 learners and a rowing coach were selected for the South African U19 rowing team.

Three Holy Rosary High School Grade 12 learners and a rowing coach were selected for the South African U19 rowing team.

Caitlin de Freitas, Hannah Roetger, Nicola Mc Donald and coach Alex Innes will join the SA team at the 2024 World Rowing Championships.

The championships will be held in Canada from August 18 and 25.

As part of the team, the HRS rowers recently attended a rowing camp in Tzaneen as they continued their fierce training.

Competing for South Africa is a tremendous honour but comes with high costs. Boat and blade rentals are R235 000 for the U19s.

The team is appealing for donations to help with these costs and lighten the load for families.
