Local boxer put his title on the line

He is confident he will leave the ring victorious against ‘Haitian Fire’ come fight night.

Primrose’s South African Junior Middleweight champion, Shervantaigh Koopman, will defend his IBO Intercontinental Junior Middleweight title against Wendy ‘Haitian Fire’ Toussaint of the USA.

The match will take place at the No Mercy Box and Dine Tournament at Emperors Palace on June 15.

The fight, scheduled for 10 rounds, will see Koopman, trained by Vusi Mtolo at the Brian Mitchell Boxing Academy in Edenvale, confident in his ability to emerge victorious against Toussaint.

The No Mercy event bill will also feature several other fighters trained by Mtolo.

Primrose’s South African Junior Middleweight champion, Shervantaigh Koopman, will step onto the international stage when he faces Wendy ‘Haitian Fire’ Toussaint of the USA for the IBO Inter Continental Junior Middleweight title.

“Roarke Knapp and Beaven Sibanda will also be in action,” said Mtolo.

Knapp will battle Mexico’s Jorge Garcia Perez for the IBO World Junior Middleweight title in the main event.

Sibanda has an eight-round strawweight fight against Siphamandla Baleni of the Eastern Cape.
