Gymnasts bring home champs title

Held between September 29 and October 7, the games attracted 30 000 gymnasts.

Three local gymnasts excelled when they took to the arena at the SA Gym Games.

The gymnasts, Bailey Maré (7), a Modderfontein resident, Dené Greyvenstein (10) and Mackenzie Mackay (11), became SA Champions in three categories.

Between October 6 and 7, Maré, Greyvenstein and Mackay became SA champions in the women’s acrobatic gymnastics trio level nine and the open age categories for balance, dynamic, and combined.

Eight gymnastics disciplines were graded across three venues.

Earlier this year, the trio represented Ekurhuleni at the provincial championships in level nine.
